There are 17 additional Shrines upon installation of the DLC packs, the special Sword Monk's Shrine from the "The Master Trials" DLC and the sixteen new Sheikah Monk Shrines from the "Champions' Ballad" DLC, leading to a total of 136 Shrines of Trials plus two special Shrines. There are 120 Shrines of Trials plus the initial Shrine of Resurrection. The four ones from the Great Plateau upgrade the Sheikah Slate with a new Rune ability. They are found all over Hyrule, and require Link's Sheikah Slate to gain entry.

The Shrines dwelt by a Sheikah Monk are also known as Shrines of Trials.

Shrines are locations from The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. you do start to see something romantic about the whole endeavor." - Sagessa Archaeologists get pretty fired up hunting down each one of them, but I haven't got time for mysteries. It sometimes feels like there's a shrine sleeping behind every hill, there's so many of them. Head back onto the last platform and greet Monk Ree Dahee and you’ll get a Spirit Orb." The shrine only recently started glowing, but it's been there for something like 10,000 years. Now you can run up the slab and reach the chest to get a Climber’s Bandana! Alternatively, you can also move the barrels up to your platform and use them as a stepping stool. Look down below next to the receptacle to find some metal barrels, and use your Magnesis Rune to send them over to the button as a weight. Note: When you get to the other side, you can spot a treasure chest on the ledge above the slab you can’t reach - rather, not without pressing the button.

The final platform holds the most challenging one of all - a slab that doesn’t quite reach the receptacle below, which means you’ll need to step on the button long enough to for the sphere to get momentum going down, then step off at the last moment to move the slab back up and send the sphere shooting off to the other side. If you step on the button too long, the sphere will keep rolling and fall off, making you try again. This means you’ll need to step onto the button until the sphere rolls to the lower platform, then step off to move them back up so the sphere can roll down the lower platform onto the receptacle. The next platform is a bit trickier - you have two moving slabs to worry about.

The first one is simple - just step on the button in front of you to tilt the slab, and stay on until the sphere rolls off onto the bottom - triggering a platform to take you forward. Your job is to get the slabs to be slanted so that the orbs can reach the receptacles below - but timing will be the key. In the Ree Dahee Shrine, you’ll be presented with several slabs with small spheres on them.
